Dining at Baywatch

At Villa Baywatch, our in-house guests have the facility to order their breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Guests are requested to place their meal order in advance (preferably 24 hours ahead) to allow sufficient time for preparation.
The available options are listed below from which the guests are requested to select one.
The cost per person would be as follows:
Breakfast - US$ 10
Lunch - US$ 15
Dinner - US$ 20

Breakfast Options

Western Breakfast

  • Two eggs prepared to your choice

String hopper breakfast
String hopper or ‘Idiappam’ is a special traditional Sri Lankan dish made simply from white or red rice flour. The flour dough is squeezed into a press to form thin rice noodles and pressed onto a flat mesh-like disk to be steamed. This particular cooking style is called bamboo cooking.

      Curries served are:
-     Pol Sambal (a Spicy coconut chutney made with grated coconut, chili and onion).
-     Kiri Hodi with boiled eggs (this is coconut milk curry, served with boiled eggs).
-     Dhal (Lentil) curry
-     Chicken or fish curry
-     Tea or Coffee

Pol Roti (Coconut roti) breakfast
Pol roti (පොල් රොටි) or coconut flatbread is a very popular meal in Sri Lanka. It can be eaten for breakfast or dinner. Shredded coconut is mixed with flour, and a few other ingredients, and then formed into a dough with water or coconut milk.
Accompanied curries:
• Katta Sambal  (a spicy chutney with ground dried red chilies, onions, dried maldive fish, lime and salt).
• Fish or chicken curry
• Dhal (Lentil) curry
• Tea or Coffee

Milk rice breakfast
The Sri Lankan milk rice, also known as ‘Kiribath’, in Sinhalese, is a popular Sri Lankan food that is enjoyed for breakfast. Sri Lankans usually consume milk rice on auspicious days, as they believe it denotes good luck and prosperity.
Curries served with:
• Katta Sambal (a spicy chutney with ground dried red chilies, onions, dried maldive fish, lime and salt).
• Fish or chicken curry
• Dhal (Lentil) curry
• Two half boiled eggs per person
• Tea or Coffee
